Mozilla's Week of Contribution

Mozilla's Week of Contribution

https://blog.mozilla.org/wp-content/themes/OneMozilla/img/mozilla-wordmark.pngThe +Mozilla TN have planned to launch its  Week of Contribuntion by  Reinventing the Mozilla on Campus with new trainers and contributors on board.

I am delighted to be a part of the trainers at the #mozillatnwoc16. Mozilla has an awesome network of contributors from various parts of the world. I have contributed to other open source platforms but they doesn't give the credits and recognitions like Mozilla. And I'm glad to be a part of this super-awesome open source community doing remarkably well at making the web a better place.

Mozilla has taken a lot of efforts to to protect the Web; promote openness, innovation and opportunity for all.

MozillaTN's WOC'16:

This year , we have a divided structure of trainers and contributors. Our mentors- Vishwaprasnth & Karthickeyan will guide the trainers. Trainers are just the passionate contributors who have the ability to teach their friends, college mates and colleagues. These trainers will teach the contributors. This makes it simple to track and monitor the contribution of the trainers as well as the contributors. I am happy that i am one of the trainers too. Its an opportunity for my leadership qualities.

Open Source. Why would i want to be a part of it? I am not going to be paid anyway. How will this benefit me? Well, the reason why i wanna be a part of open source is that -many awesome software products are developed by the open source community. Unity in Diversity  is another reason why i loved to be a part of open source. And mozilla is the best open source community that has a huge number of contributors plus mozilla gives its recognition and credits to the contributors.

I am expecting more of training on developments in the add-ons for the firefox and fixing bugs in the  firefox OS, Thunder Mail, SeaMOnkey and ChatZilla. And introducing to some of the development tools like Bonsoi, BugTracker etc. My main expectations is to get trained on something which i am not good at. Expecting to learn some new stuffs.

As a trainer, I will be teaching 6 contributors from my college:
1) Arun Prakash
2) Satheesh
3) Kanimozhi
4) Ananth
5) Vanitha
6) Gayathiri
The count may increase to 10 to 15 because the response from my friends are pretty  good.

I would like to conduct webinars, online tutorials based on self paced learning. Also, use the facebook's live Q and A which can help a lot of people to learn better about Mozilla. I am very keen to make digital contents that could be use to make learning better, fun and more practical.

I would like to host Mozillian Workshops during the techfest and symposiums.

I have also an idea to teach the +1 and +2 computer science students about the web and developments.

The number of girls in the MozilliaTN is very less. Lets be a part in bringing some passionate girl mozillians to the open source community.  :P
